Vicki and Rick at Sefton Park Palm House, Liverpool

This is the day I almost met Al Pacino….. but more on that later.

I drove the short journey to the end of the M62 to shoot this amazing wedding at the end of last month. The day started off at the beautiful new Hilton hotel in Liverpool city centre with the fabulously giddy bridesmaids laughing and joking to help keep Vicki’s nerves at bay. We then moved onto the splendid cathedral-like church of St Matthew and St James in Mossley Hill for their service. A very impressive building both inside and out with an interesting wartime story behind it (I’m rubbish at remembering details, feel free to google it). The reception venue topped the lot though, the fabulous Palm House in beautiful Sefton Park, easily one of the most impressive places I’ve had the pleasure of shooting a wedding reception in so far.

I can’t wait for you two to see your photos, I really hope that my pictures have done this day justice; everything about this wedding was great – the weather, the venues, the atmosphere and the people.

Oh and as for Al Pacino: Apparently during the evening reception he appeared at the gates with his wife asking if he could come in and have a look around, only to be turned away by the guards manning the gates. Did this really happen or was it a just a wedding rumour??? The only people who really know are the two bored security guards, manning the gates on a Saturday night at the venue…. I’ll let you be the judge of that!
